Inflation surged in May to levels not seen in three years, thanks in large part to soaring energy costs as a result of the Iran war, now entering its fourth month. Consumer costs are 4.2% higher compared to a year ago, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest consumer price report released last week.
