"Supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders is one of the most important investments we can make in the future of our industry."

'Supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders is one of the most important investments we can make in the future of our industry.' The New Mexico Cattle Growers' Association has recognized three students with scholarships honoring their academic achievements and commitment to agriculture. Kristie Gallacher received the YCLC Scholarship. Gallacher, who is studying at Texas Tech University, plans to become a veterinarian and return to rural New Mexico to serve livestock producers and their communities. The association said in a news release her agricultural upbringing through Gallacher Land & Cattle Co. and her interest in rural veterinary medicine made her a standout recipient. Wyatt Curry of Roswell and Isaac Smith of Mosquero each received Allied Industries Senior Scholarships. Curry plans to study animal science with a pre-veterinary emphasis at Oklahoma State University and was recognized for his leadership in FFA, 4-H and livestock judging. Smith, a valedictorian and rodeo competitor, plans to study horse training management at Lamar Community College. "Supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders is one of the most important investments we can make in the future of our industry," said Cattle Growers' President Tom Paterson.
